A few words about stats:

I’ve just added on the top left of the blogs some real time statistics (real time computed, but not real time updated until you reload the page) about number of users, and number of connections to the server….
This help me to understand usage of j2memap, and to prepare next version of it which will be much more powerfull and interesting!

One other interesting information, is statistics about country. Unfortunatly I just have these stats through MobileZoo, so it just started a few weeks ago on a subset of the users base. But I discovered that most of the users come from Russia, then US, India, France, South Africa, Ukraine… There is no European country in the top 5 except for France (which is probably due to the fact that I am French and it might be easiest to promote j2memap in France then)

BuddyLocator is an application written by RoySolberg that has been nominated in the top 10 finalist of the Java Masters 2006 of Siemens. It’s a nice start, and a goot example of using J2memap. The UI require a little bit of polishing yet (entering your nikcname on mobile is quite hard Roy!), but it show how new app can be created with existing components…

- Google Map update
- FonSearch….(WiFi access)

Just read an interesting blog who was proposing to use the new N95 to find Fon’s nearest access point…Nice idea! In a less then one hour, I’ve added a Fon feature into j2memap:

Never lost without a WiFi access…..

In the “more fun…” menu, you have now the ability to display closet Fon access points…Nice when you are looking for a WiFi hotspot. However, does not seems so numerous, and even, seems to be very controversial (see “The real Fon statistics“)

The feature is available since v0.912….
